AIDA is a developer and manufacturer of forming systems, primarily presses. Presses are essential equipment used in the forming processes required to manufacture an automobile body. But our business is not limited to manufacturing the machine itself. We first ascertain from our customers, who may be an automotive manufacturer or a consumer electronics manufacturer, about the type of product they plan to produce. We suggest the most suitable complete forming system required for the production process, including what materials to use, process technologies, and the equipment requirements. In this manner, we actively guide customers towards optimal solutions and help them to resolve any problems and issues. We are proud to be the 2nd largest dedicated press manufacturer in terms of sales turnover, and a leading light in our industry.

In our long 90-year history of continuous operation, AIDA has always maintained superb technical capabilities and a leading position in the market. We have won many awards for our products and our process technologies. We have submitted approximately 500 patent applications in the last 10 years.

While we expressly state that AIDA is a dedicated press manufacturer, AIDA is also the company that manufactured Japan’s first industrial robot. Called the ‘Autohand,’ this robot was introduced in 1968 and literally functioned as a replacement for a human hand.

2007 marked the 90th anniversary of AIDA’s founding. In spite of the losses sustained in the Great Kanto Earthquake (1923) and in World War II, we have reconstructed our business through our indomitable perseverance, and have kept ahead of the competition by introducing a wide range of innovative products. We are proud of our achievements, which have contributed to the advancement of the press industry as well as to the business of our customers in various manufacturing industries, thereby contributing to the overall growth of industry.
